PHILOSOPHY OF CARE
Every journey begins with a single step. While taking that first step can feel overwhelming, you don’t have to do it alone. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we will work to address the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be negatively impacting your life. I believe that trust is the foundation of any successful therapeutic relationship. As we walk this path together, I will offer you a space free of judgment, listen with empathy and understanding, and build emotional connection through open communication, honesty, and compassion.
I am deeply passionate about mental health, particularly in working with individuals with ADHD and other spectrum disorders. I hold master’s degrees in both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, with a focus on supporting the well-being of individuals with disabilities. I view counseling as a space to work through personal challenges, foster mental well-being, and define meaningful personal, academic, and career goals, all centered around growth and positive change.
“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain, and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”
— Matt Haig
Education and Licensure
- Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC)
- Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling – Thomas University
- Bachelor of Science in Psychology – Utah State University
Clinical Experience
While completing my Bachelor of Science at Utah State University, I worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician within the autism community, providing hands-on therapeutic treatment under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
During my master’s program at Thomas University, I provided trauma-focused therapy for children and families referred by the Utah Division of Child and Family Services, utilizing the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model. After a year of serving children and families, I joined Corner Canyon Counseling to expand my clinical experience and develop a broader understanding of mental health needs across different populations.
Through my clinical internship, I had the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly focusing on underserved communities. This experience allowed me to work with a wide range of mental health challenges including severe trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and many other disorders.
I am a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). Over the past three years, I have specialized in working with adults with ADHD, helping clients build executive functioning skills, improve emotional regulation, and develop mindful practices to support daily living and long-term success.
Additionally, I have spent the past year working at a neurorestorative rehabilitation center, providing therapeutic services to individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and addressing their diverse and complex mental health needs.
